Weakness of Transversus Abdominis[edit | edit source]
Typical signs of a weak transversus abdominis are toned abdominals above the navel but a bulge below it. The client may experience: an inability to hold in the stomach after a large meal or when gassy; low back fatigue after prolonged standing or walking[7].

Physiotherapy Exercises[edit | edit source]
Drawing in technique is the most effective technique to activate and strengthen TrA[8].

The side plank (side bridge) and regular plank are arguably the best exercises for activating the TVA indirectly.[7] The 2 minute video below shows how to exercise TrA

Excess Salt May Make Arteries Stiff and Cause Vascular Problems

Data from both animal and human studies provide evidence that salt impairs endothelial function and increases arterial stiffness independent of blood pressure.

Dietary Sodium Restriction Reverses Vascular Endothelial Dysfunction in Middle-Aged/Older Adults With Moderately Elevated Systolic Blood Pressure

Clinical significance

The concept that high sodium intake has adverse CV effects independent of BP has been advanced previously (9,12). High dietary sodium impairs EDD even in rodents that are salt-resistant and, thus, do not exhibit increases in BP in response to a high-salt diet (13,18,20). Acute impairment of EDD in normotensive adults after sodium loading also is BP independent (11), and adults with elevated SBP who report lower sodium intake have enhanced EDD independent of BP (16). The present results extend these findings to sodium restriction and lend support to the overall hypothesis that sodium intake not only elevates BP but also exerts other adverse influences (12). The effects of sodium restriction on endothelial function reported here also complement previous findings that reducing sodium intake can rapidly de-stiffen large elastic arteries (21), another independent vascular risk factor for CVD (40). The improvements in these 2 common forms of arterial dysfunction, both predictors of CV events (3,4,40), suggest that DSR has strong potential for reducing CVD risk via broad vasculoprotective effects.

Full Marathon - 2023

42.195 km

4.10.2023 (Evening) - 10.21km

5.10.2023 (Morning and Evening) - 22.17

6.10.23 (Morning) -  10.14

Total:   42.52 km

A sudden idea and motivation to do it.

May be next time it will be 3 * 14 km. Then 2 * 21 km

Of course finally 1 * 42.195.  Let me see over the next year.

Fighting Frustration with Full Marathon.

The last time I felt very bad, I walked from NITIE to Teen Hath Naka (Thane) for 14 km.

This time I am equally frustrated. So doing a full marathon distance walking raises mental mood and feel good once again. There is energy and strength inside the body to do things starting again. Failures and frustrations are inevitable in life. Coming back into the game again with enthusiasm is required to continue the life.

Spending 2000 Calories per Day - Experience and Plan

21.8.2023

Found it difficult to spend 2000  calories. Now I am reducing the target to 1650 calories in Google Fit due to default calories consumption and additional steps.  100 calories may be consumed extra due to exercises and routine activities. So plan to eat  close to 1750 calories and do intermediate fasting and morning walk. Intermediate fasting 14 to 16 hour break. Morning walk 50 to 60 minutes. Today morning weight is 62.5 kg. Let me see after a month the results. I can always reduce the calories once again and increase walking if required later.

9.6.2023

Last month, I downloaded and installed Google Fit App.

It gives a figure of calories consumed.

Only on yesterday 8 June 2023, I could see the figure above 2000 calories.

2090 calories consumed. 15183 steps. 9.39 km walked. active 282 minutes.

Up to 10 am, walked within the house 6500 steps.

After 10 am went out and walked for 30 minutes. Completed 9600 steps before 11 am.

1000 calories were consumed by 11 am.

9 June 2023

Calories consumed 1966

Steps - 15016

Spending 2000 calories is not easy. But on some more days I did record 2000 calories.

20th June 2066  20,212 steps  3 hrs 21 minutes

22            2019   15,020  2 hrs 54 mts

23            2016    15,018   3 hrs 11 minutes

20,000 Steps a Day - Is It Possible? - What are the Benefits?

10,000 steps in a day. It seems very difficult when we travel to work in a car or bus from our house to the office and come back. At the end of the day, one is tired and does not feel like doing any work. So you are hardly taking any steps. Then how to make 10,000 steps? It is a natural question. But doctors are now telling their diabetes patients that 10,000 steps a day is recommended exercise.

If 10,000 is difficult what about 20,000?

I did 18,000 on 5 January 2018 and this increased my curiosity about the topic. A search reveal that there are persons doing 20,000 steps.

Articles on 20,000 steps per day.

By  10 a.m.,  Tom Christenbery  logs  7,381 steps on his pedometer.

25,000 Steps a Day - Became   the Badge Holder

31 December 2017

I got the Fitbit and did 9000+ steps on the first day. Then did 10,000 steps every day till 5 Jan 2018. On 5th I did 18,000+. Then said is 20,000 steps a day possible. Yes, it is. Many are doing it. So on 6th  wanted to make 20,000 steps and ended up with 25,000

6 January 2018 - 25,000 steps Badge came

Became aware of  "By  10 a.m.,  Tom Christenbery  logs  7,381 steps on his pedometer."

So today I extended my activity.  By 12 noon, I also registered  10,000 steps and 1400 calories burned.  Planning to go for a hour's walk and that will help me to reach 20,000 steps today. Already 11,375 steps are taken.

Yes. Took a long walk in the evening. Completed 25,000 steps. Probably going to register calorie consumption of 3200 today. Clocked 11.5 miles.

7 January 2018

10 am - 6453 steps. Took it easy as yesterday evening there was heavy workout. I plan to complete 10,000 steps by 10 am on days I am able to spare time for walking. Target calorie expenditure 2800.

9.15 pm 20,230 steps, 8.74 miles, 2,708 calories

8 January 2018

9.30 am  10,068 steps, 4.37 miles

10.00 pm 26,674 steps, 11.5 miles

9 Jan 2018

11.15 pm:  21,346 steps, 9.23 miles, 2865 calories.  Total 70 miles walked from Dec 31st.

17 January 2018

20,000 steps completed.

18 January 2018

2 pm 8,000 steps completed.
