Role of Water in Weight Loss

The figure for water fraction by weight in a sample observation was found to be 48 ±6% for females and 58 ±8% water for males.

Hence when somebody is trying to lose weight, he not only loses weight by reduction of fat and muscle tissue but also by loss of water along with them.
